REHER Descendant Chart

Someone put a comment on the 2006 Christmas Greeting blog wishing for a Family Tree type chart so they could figure out exactly how people were related.

I wish I could post a traditional looking Family Tree... but the family is so big that it breaks down and is still not easy to see the relationships.

On the 2006 Christmas Greeting, I posted the pictures of each cousin and cousin's family under one of the original 10 children of Ernest & Minnie Reher (Art, John, Hugo, Arnold, Emil, Ed, Olga, Dora, Frieda and Barney.) That is the connection... most of us are either 1st cousins, or 1st cousins once removed... our children would be called second cousins or second cousins once removed.

Our common ancestor would be Ernest Reher.
Ernest Reher was my Grandfather.
For a lot of you Ernest Reher would have been your Great-grandfather...
hence you and I are 1st cousins once removed (your parent and I are 1st cousins).
If this is the case, you would be 2nd cousins to my children...
If that's confusing, anyone who has Ernest Reher as their Great-grandfather is a second cousin to all other Great-grandchildren of Ernest.

Below is the best I can do to post some sort of chart for us all. On this chart, I've started with Ernest Reher's parents: Johan & Sophia VOGT REHER who had three children, Ernest being the middle child.

All people with three lines (| | | ) before their names on the chart below would be 1st cousins;
All people with four lines (| | | | ) would be 2nd cousins to each other.
People with four lines would be 1st cousins, once removed, to people with 3 lines and visa versa.

We can just call each other "cousin" for that's what we are in some form or another.
